STEM Learning Through Drone Technology

Drones make STEM hands-on, practical, and career-connected. Students see how science, technology, engineering, and math apply to real-world operations.

What students learn

NIST Drone Skills & Flight Training

Structured drone skill-building inspired by NIST sUAS test methods. Includes flight control, precision movement, obstacle awareness, visual tracking, landing accuracy, and mission-based challenges.

Drone Building & Engineering Basics

Frames, motors, propellers, batteries, sensors, cameras, controllers, and software — assembly, maintenance, troubleshooting, and how engineering design affects flight.

3D Scanning & Photogrammetry

Turn images into digital models. Scene documentation, measurements, and real-world uses in construction, public safety, inspections, and design.

FPV Flying & Spatial Awareness

First-person-view concepts, orientation, camera perspective, reaction time, obstacle awareness, and safe controlled flight — taught through simulators first.

VR Drone Simulations

Practice control, mission planning, emergency response, public safety operations, and inspection-style tasks in immersive virtual environments.

Drone Mapping & Data Collection

Images, video, and location data for mapping, inspections, agriculture, emergency response, fire investigation, and community projects.

Beyond theory.

Our programs are designed so students don't just read about drone systems — they fly them, build them, troubleshoot them, and use them to capture and interpret real data.
